Chair of Private Equity Strategies

Tony Morgan is Chair of Bridges’ Private Equity Strategies.

Tony has over 20 years’ experience in Private Equity, spanning a variety of investment and leadership roles. Most recently he was Chief Investment Officer of British International Investment, the UK development finance institution, having originally joined as head of the Direct Equity team in 2019. At BII, he had responsibility for managing a $10bn impact investment portfolio focused primarily on Africa and South Asia.

Prior to BII, he held senior positions at Onex Corporation, where he set up the firm’s European Private Equity operations, and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in Toronto, where he was a Managing Director in CPPIB’s Principal Investing Group. Earlier in his career, he worked for Permira.  He currently also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Pantheon International plc.

Tony has an MEng in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
