Thesis
More than 4 million homes and businesses in the US now have rooftop solar, forming a large and growing installed asset base that must be actively monitored and maintained. Yet many owners lack the systems and network required to monitor performance, diagnose faults, and coordinate remediation at scale. As a result, distributed solar assets frequently underperform expected output, generating billions of dollars in preventable losses each year.
Investment
Omnidian provides performance assurance for rooftop solar installations. Its core product is a warranty that guarantees energy generation above a modelled output, effectively transferring underperformance risk from asset owners to Omnidian. It manages this exposure using machine learning models to remotely detect, contextualise, and diagnose solar asset faults like shade, soiling, and hardware failures. When intervention is required, Omnidian dispatches field-service crews to restore performance. This tech-enabled services model improves system uptime, lowers operating costs, and helps asset owners maximise long-term returns.
Outcomes
Omnidian oversees more than 2 GW of energy generation across 2,000+ sites.
