Positive Families Partnership is a new initiative designed to help keep hundreds of vulnerable families across London together, by preventing young people from being taken into care. Jointly commissioned by five London boroughs — Sutton, Tower Hamlets, Bexley, Merton and Newham — it has been structured as an outcomes contract funded by a social impact bond — so the provider is only paid for successfully keeping young people out of the care system. Bridges is investing c. £4.5m to cover the up-front costs of the programme.

The launch of the programme was covered by City AM (This impact investor has backed five London boroughs to help keep children out of care).

And this Guardian piece, which includes interviews with the lead commissioner and one of our delivery partner, looks at how the programme is aiming to deliver better value for the councils (through cost savings) and better outcomes for the families involved.
