Bridges team walks more than 30km in support of OnSide Youth Zones
Colleagues from across the Bridges group raised over £5,000, to be matched pound for pound by Bridges Impact Foundation
On Wednesday, a team from across the Bridges group laced up their boots for a sponsored walk in support of OnSide Youth Zones, the charity network that Bridges Impact Foundation is proud to support as a Founder Patron.
In London, walkers set off from Future, Barking and Dagenham Youth Zone and made their way across the capital to WEST Youth Zone in Hammersmith & Fulham. At the same time, colleagues from Bridges Outcomes Partnerships took on a parallel challenge in the north, walking from Marsden to HideOut Youth Zone in Manchester. Both routes covered more than 30km.
The London team was given a lively send-off by the staff at Future, and fuelled up with coffee before setting out. On arrival, they received a warm welcome from the team at WEST, who had a well-earned spread of food waiting at the finish line. Meanwhile, the Manchester walkers enjoyed glorious weather and some beautiful countryside along their route.
OnSide Youth Zones are open 52 weeks of the year, giving young people somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to. The walk was a chance for the Bridges team to show their support for that work, and to thank the staff at Future, WEST and HideOut for everything they do for young people in their communities.
Beyond the blisters and aching legs, the day also gave colleagues the opportunity to spend time together in support of a cause that matters to so many across the business.
Thanks to the generosity of friends, family and colleagues, the team has surpassed its £5,000 fundraising target. Bridges Impact Foundation will match every pound raised, doubling the impact of each donation.
Bridges would like to thank everyone who took part in the walk, cheered the team on or donated.
